I just got a box from Amazon. With the books I ordered in it. When in DC two weeks ago, I wandered through Kramerbooks in Dupont Circle. Great bookstore. Picked up Brian Greene's The Elegant Universe, subtitled "Superstrings, Hidden Dimensions, and the Quest for the Ultimate Theory". I put it back down, not wanting any more weight to carry home. Wrote down the title. Mentioned it to my soon-to-be SIL. "Oh, yes", she said, "I've been wanting to read about that. We could have our own little book club." So I came home and ordered it. What the heck, why not also order The Fabric of the Cosmos, "Space. Time. And the Texture of Reality." by the same author. Oh, yes, and I did buy, and start reading, Color, "A Natural History of the Palette", by Victoria Finlay, while in DC.

Last Saturday, my sister showed me the two books she had just bought, and asked which one *I* wanted to read first (I have a tendency to swipe her books...) I chose American Gospel, "God, the Founding Fathers, and the Making of a Nation", by Jon Meacham.

Thank heavens I got the books about quantum physics in the mail. I was about to be be bored.

And what do I spend my time doing, anyways, lately? Reading and posting at TE!!!! MUST GO READ BOOKS! FALLING HIDEOUSLY BEHIND! :p

(I also got Barry White's "All Time Greatest Hits" CD.) I hereby re-claim Barry White from my ex. I liberate him (Barry White. My ex I liberated 6 years ago). I will sing. I will dance. Maybe even someday with a partner! :D

I know. I forwarded that site to my sister, a journalist, and she can't get any work done now, either! I'm staying away, as I fear it will suck me in like a vortex. Like the vortex that it is. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Do you think the Japanese have a website with pictures of the tatoos Americans have of Japanese characters?

I loved both those Brian Greene books!!! Oh, they are SOOOOOOO good! I could hardly get to sleep at night because I was trying to read them, and woke up way early so I could read them some more! Have you seen the DVD of "The Elegant Universe"? Very cool.

My latest sleep-eliminating book was "The Woman With The Alabaster Jar" by ? Starbird. It's one of the books used by Dan Brown when he wrote "The DaVinci Code." (which I found to be tedious, maybe because I'd read Starbird's book first)

Also, find "Lamb", by some dude who's name I can't remember. It's the Gospel of Biff, Joshua's best friend. Very irreverent, but very sweet. (he also wrote "Island of the Sequined Love Nun" which I haven't read yet)

Probably much more fun than Meacham's book.

I am glad to hear that. I'm enjoying Color. I'll probably try to read the Meacham book next, just so I can get it back to my sister.

Haven't seen the DVD, but I'll look for it when I'm done with the book.
