Someone just asked about wheels on another thread here:

Maybe this is a place to start? I am not sure what kind of wheels you can get for under $300, though - perhaps someone else can give a specific suggestion as to price?

I have the Mavic Open Pros, they're not terribly light but they're really tough and extremely dependable. No broken spokes or out of true, despite the fact that I ride potholes on a regular basis and was recently in a crash.
Depending on what color you want, they range from $200 to $240.

You ride a Superlight? As in a Santa Cruz Superlight? So, you're looking for mountain bike wheels?

Forgot to mention in my first post....Mtn bike wheels.
After that, it is time for a new road bike.
thanks

Duh. We roadies are fairly self-centered and don't pick up on MTB references because we think the world revolves around our road bikes. (Doesn't it?) :p
