Can anyone suggest mountain bike shoe brands for men for REALLY wide feet? DH has size 9 1/2 EEEE feet and I am trying to encourage him to bike to shed some pounds. He asked about shoes--and anything I can do to encourage him..... (he won't look on his own!) Pls ask your male significant others, friends, etc. for me!

Sidi Dominator Megas are wide (and expensive).

I would have thought your best chance of finding wide shoes would be with "American" rather than "European" brands. I have found Specialized and Pearl Izumi and Cannondale shoes to be reasonably wide, much wider than my Diadora and Shimano ones.

Pearl Izumi is wider than Shimano and it also has a more roomier toe box (wiggle room). I agree with Nanci - Sidi Dominator mega wide.

Sidi Megas, hands (feet?) down. I am anywhere from a 2E to a 4E and my men's Sidi Dominator Megas in size 43 fit me perfectly.

The "slightly wider than usual" shoes made by the other brands mentioned are probably ok if you're a D or single E width.

Sidi Megas, for sure. The Sidi Dominator 5 Mega Loricas are kind of expensive at $230 but you can also go with the Sidi Bullet 2 Mega Mesh which are $150.

Ooh, I didn't know they made a mesh shoe! That'd be nice for summertime. You Evil Gear Enabler! :p
