Well, I've gone about a 1000 miles since last summer and just had my first flat. I had gone for a short ride got home and went along my day. My partner comes home and as is his way he feels the tires on my bike and says "hey you have a flat. You better fix it!" Having only had one lesson in this before, I needed some supervision, but pretty much did it with a little help. I was just so grateful that it happened in my kitchen and not on some busy street or worse a really quiet rode in the middle of no where. I guess fixing flats comes easier with practice, but I hope I don't get that much-- practice that is. Happy riding.

Sounds pretty luxurious. Mine usually happen when it is 100 degrees, no shade and you have to stand in the loose, deep dirt next to the field to get out of the traffic.

I was very lucky (?) to grow up with six older brothers who taught me a thing or two so I was fixing my own flats by the time I was 10. My husband married well. Of course my last flat I didn't have a pump with me and he had to ride home the 5 miles and come back with the "sag wagon". Ha Ha
