In food energy equivalent to the energy in a gallon of gas, a bike rider gets 1,350 mpg.

I just paid $3.19 gal (cheapest gas I could find) yesterday for my 32 mpg Subaru... I could've had creme brulee instead!

We just dropped to $2.69 here. So I guess I get to eat a chocolate chip cookie.

Since I'm math impaired, what is my mileage for the 0.4 mi I walk to work? :p If I'm wearing my non-PCR, pet hair attracting polarfleece, does that lessen my efficiency (since it's a petroleum product)?

Wow - creme brulee is so much better than unleaded.

I recently read a longish article explaining bike mileage in terms of jelly donuts. (Wish I could cite my source...) That is he figures a person gets so many miles per jelly donut (or jelly donut equivalent in your average SUV). Turns out, a girl can eat quite a few guilt-free jelly donuts if she bikes a lot. :)

I'm good with that.

Nerd that I sometimes am, I once figured out the cost of sports drink v/s the cost of gas and at the time per mile it was amazingly cheaper to fuel the car - now with the price of gas it costs me approx. 9 cents per mile to drive and only 3 cents per mile in Ctyomax at full price, 1.5 cents if I buy it on sale.

yes - and it'll cost you about $0.89 per polarfleece thread! :p

I've paid $5.27 gal (cheapest gas I could find) And the sad part is that I converted it well, cause here is $1,39 liter... I could save enough to feed smaller African tribe

If gas hits $5/gal here, I'm getting an xtracycle (www.xtracycle.com) and selling the car.

But then everyone'd be selling their cars and no-one would want to buy mine!
