Okay, I decided to go clipless, but I'm afraid of falling. :P Any recommendations on pedals that are easy to clip in and out of? Also, sometimes my right knee acts up and aches from time to time. Thanks.

Eggbeaters or Candies - 4-sided entry, low tension, doesn't know the meaning of mud, low service level.
Candies will give you the same benefits of the Eggs but have an added platform that give you a little bit more stability when you don't want to be clipped in.

I second the eggbeaters - 4 opportunities to get clipped in as opposed to most pedals only having two. And they have a bit of float, so you knee won't be stuck in one position all the time.
Perhaps go to you local LBS and ask to try a few different kinds on the trainer? It won't be the same as riding, but should give you an indication of how the different types feel.

If you get the egg beater mallet that would be a good choice for a beginner. It has a nice platform to use if you don't want to be clipped in and the crank bros pedal is very easy to engage, sometimes too easy. I ride with Time Z Control pedals. It also has a nice platform to use when not feeling too sure about being clipped in and to be clipped in you must forceably clip in (in other words - no accident clips - you have to think about it). Frogs are easy to use, very easy to engage but the platform was not big enough for me. If stopped on a steep hill nothing to use to get started again. With my Z Controls I can use the platform to get the bike moving and then clip in.

I just bought Speedplay Frogs last week. My favorite PT is a big-time biker goddess, and she recommended Frogs because of my knee issues. The Team Survivor coach also recommended Frogs because they are so easy for beginners.
I like them. :p
