Ever have one of those rides where almost nothing goes right? Sheesh....today's ride was awful:
-I couldn't get warm, despite it being a warm day
-I think I ate too early and peaked too soon...the whole ride was one long
bonk
-apart from a few km's in the middle of my trip, I had stiff headwinds
no matter which direction I went
-I installed a new crankset yesterday...I absolutely could not find a
comfortable gear, even though it felt perfect yesterday
-I couldn't even get into the groove with the music I had on
What a day. I packed it in after 40 miserable kilometers. I think I'll have a hot bath and eat a liter of Haagen-Dazs..:D

I had a bad day, too.

I was on a Century ride. It was gray and cloudy and windy. Really windy. I wore enough clothes not to freese, though.

The escort vehicle took us five miles out of the way.

The traffic was _so_ bad. I like rural Centuries, not traffic with no bike lane.

The wind was constant, non-relenting. I'd estimate 40 mph, with worse gusts. It was along the Atlantic coast, so no breaks.

I decided to switch from the century to the 61 (66) mile ride, and take some photos, and make the best of it.

I got 40 miles off course.

It was all I could do, when I found out where I was, finally, to not burst into tears in the convenience store.

I wondered if I hated all cycling, now.

I have a 100 mile mountain ride Saturday.

I have a weird pain in the front of my knees that was never there before.

The chamois in my expensive Louis Garmeau knickers is only good for an hour.

I can't afford any more.

I have to do the whole 100 miles Saturday, or I will feel like a dumb a** wearing the jersey, the first event jersey that I have pre-purchased.

My car stereo died yesterday.

My iPod Shuffle went psycho, again, on the way home and I couldn't even listen to that.

Now that I am home, BF's super hot friend stopped over, looking for him, (he's at work) and I am in my PJ's, without a bra, with my hair up in some weird topknot, and have drank too much sympathy wine.

Nice.

I wish there was some ice cream in the house.

Y'all need some serious chocolate or some other type of indulgent comfort food! Tomorrow will be better - I'm sure of it :)

Wonder if the radiologist will let me eat chocolate in the MRI tube tomorrow?

Does valium count as comfort food?:D

Dang... BOTH of you ladies (Nanci and Nui) had ROUGH days out on your bikes!

I guess we need the bad days, to make the good days... seem that much better?

Thank goodness you both made it home.

I hope the next rides you do will be 100 times better...then again... you can only go UP!

:D
