One of the things we did this weekend - making 4 of these signs.

Yep - I rode where the arrow is today. That first climb is Mount Diablo, that we Bay Area CA girls talk about. It doesn't look like much, but in my mind the next climb after the arrow - Patterson Pass is the worst. There always seems to be a strong headwind out there.

I grew up in the Bay Area and remember all too well how tough they are. But it sure feels good when you reach the top!

Veronica, you should post this picture over on the bikejournal thread where someone is asking about climbing. The guys that talk about standing most of the time should see this profile. Maybe they'll understand the difference between a hill and a mountain.

That is SO cool!!! Just think, you'll be there!!
What great signs.
It's funny, before we started the ride Saturday everyone was standing around talking about how they're working at DMD (as in not riding and I now think it would be insane to try to do the 600 and then the DMD). Anyway, it seemed like most of the folks got assigned to the Pet the Goat spot, and I may drive up there with Em (we love goats) and see some of the riders. Maybe I'll see you!!
I love Lise's Chicago version of the profile. That's great!!
