Running Mommy

So I went out for a ride this morning. It was gorgeous out. No wind, about 84 degrees- FABULOUS! It felt good to be back on valentina. I thanked her for a good race. Also noticed some creaking in one of my aerobar pads. I promised her I'd look into it. :p
I felt really good out of the box, strong and fresh. Did about 5 hill repeats and then WHAM! I DIED!! I have never had fatigue hit me so fast like that! It was almost as if I bonked, but I felt fine, other than the need to lie down and take a nap! So I took the cue and rode home....
Tomorrow morning I go for my first run. Hopefully I can make it through 5 miles??? OY!
Have yet to hit the pool. The thought of even one lap is... oh well, You know!!
BTW- I'm STILL watching my IM athlete video, and STILL in AWE that I did that thing!! I know I did and all, but part of me still says "not you!! You didn't really do that!"..
Oh and another disturbing thought... This one is directly in line w/ Nanci contemplating the 1200k....
I am actually contemplating putting my name in the hat next year for the Kona lottery!!
I have always said that there is NO WAY I would consider doing Kona. NO WAY! Just too hard.... But part of me says "if you get faster in the swim, stronger on the bike, and lose those 30 lbs. YOU CAN DO IT"... So that is my focus. A worthy goal I suppose. Now I know that I have a rats behinds chance in being picked in the lottery, but you know I have this dumb luck w/ race lotteries. Every year that I put my name in the hat for NYCM I've gotten in! My running friends (esp. the one we call the Susan Lucci of the NYCM lottery) HATE me for that! But yeah, my dumb luck would be that I'd get picked!! ha ha ha
So here I am... Looking for a total immersion camp, putting a game plan together on the bike, and meeting with the dietician to figure this weight thing out... I'm on my way girls. I'm on my way... And though I may never be picked in the Kona lottery, at least I'll be in killer shape!! :D
Rock On!
