So I went out for a ride this morning. It was gorgeous out. No wind, about 84 degrees- FABULOUS! It felt good to be back on valentina. I thanked her for a good race. Also noticed some creaking in one of my aerobar pads. I promised her I'd look into it. :p
I felt really good out of the box, strong and fresh. Did about 5 hill repeats and then WHAM! I DIED!! I have never had fatigue hit me so fast like that! It was almost as if I bonked, but I felt fine, other than the need to lie down and take a nap! So I took the cue and rode home....
Tomorrow morning I go for my first run. Hopefully I can make it through 5 miles??? OY!
Have yet to hit the pool. The thought of even one lap is... oh well, You know!!
BTW- I'm STILL watching my IM athlete video, and STILL in AWE that I did that thing!! I know I did and all, but part of me still says "not you!! You didn't really do that!"..
Oh and another disturbing thought... This one is directly in line w/ Nanci contemplating the 1200k....
I am actually contemplating putting my name in the hat next year for the Kona lottery!!
I have always said that there is NO WAY I would consider doing Kona. NO WAY! Just too hard.... But part of me says "if you get faster in the swim, stronger on the bike, and lose those 30 lbs. YOU CAN DO IT"... So that is my focus. A worthy goal I suppose. Now I know that I have a rats behinds chance in being picked in the lottery, but you know I have this dumb luck w/ race lotteries. Every year that I put my name in the hat for NYCM I've gotten in! My running friends (esp. the one we call the Susan Lucci of the NYCM lottery) HATE me for that! But yeah, my dumb luck would be that I'd get picked!! ha ha ha
So here I am... Looking for a total immersion camp, putting a game plan together on the bike, and meeting with the dietician to figure this weight thing out... I'm on my way girls. I'm on my way... And though I may never be picked in the Kona lottery, at least I'll be in killer shape!! :D
Rock On!

You. Rock. :D

It's a form of madness, isn't it...but what a dream, what a dream. To do Kona. To even get ready with the goal of Kona.

I'll bet it felt great to be back on Valentina. After the marathon, I tried to run 2 miles, and couldn't do it. My legs were fine, but my heart and lungs felt like they'd been run over by a truck. Let us know how the run goes!

Denise, I think Kona is a fabulous goal! Wow! Good job getting back into your workouts; just take it slowly!

Keep us posted on how you feel as you continue getting back into the swing of things! ;)

Tracy

ps. Where's my video woman! :D I can't wait to show DH!

I think BF is in the Kona lottery. Maybe you'll both get in the same year!

I'm still in awe you did it, not that I didn't believe you could- I just am in awe that _any_ normal person can do it.

Vid-e-o! Vid-e-o! C'mon, everybody, join in! Vid-e-o!

I had forgotten to bug you for that--thanks for the reminder, Tracy!

Kona, man. Wouldn't that be something? TE TriGirls Reunion at Kona. :D L.

Now why wouldn't you do Kona? Wasn't there a time when you didn't think you'd ever do your IM? Never say never!!
Let's make a pact: if Denise does Kona, a bunch of us will go there to cheer her on!! :D
Actually, Denise has inspired me. I've been looking at registering for the Iron Girl Columbia Triathalon. It's been so long since I've been swimming, though, that I fear I'd have to bring some sort of flotation device to ensure I didn't drown. haha.
GO DENISE!!!

I used to surf... But that's the thing about getting old... You lose your sense of balance.
Oh- and no video yet girls. I'm waiting for the cd from ASI w/ all my photos on them. My friend that's doing it is also pretty dang busy w/ other paid editing gig's right now... So I have to wait in line..Plus ASI is taking FOREVER to send me my cd!! I didn't even order prints?! Do you know how easy it is to burn pic's to a cd?? They must be very busy.. sigh.. so I wait... and in the meantime I watch the athlete video at least once a day, still in AWE that I was one of the crazy's jumping into that water!! OY!
