question: why does a bike seat have a "nose"?

check out these seats, they look more comfortable to me.

FX,

I believe a bike seat has a nose to supply enough area to spread weight out more evenly. I don't what type of bike you ride........ possibly on a hybrid bike, where more of one's weight is over the back of the saddle, the saddle you are looking at might make some sense. On a road bike, however, I think it would feel like you were about to slip off the front of the saddle.

I work summers in a bike shop. I have for the past 5 years. In all that time, I have only seen one bike come in with that type of saddle. I guess I would say if it is such a good thing, there would be more people using it. Before you buy, see if you will be able to return it if it doesn't work out for you. And let us here on the boards know how it goes.

Nope, wouldn't work for me, as I tend to ride on a "tripod" formed by my sitbones and pubic bone.

My husband tried a similar design many years ago, and it didn't work out especially well for him either. But, if you ride in a really upright position, it might be okay.

To each his own ;)
