It’s absolutely gorgeous outside!

I hope you can join us this evening for our ride to the junction of Mt. Diablo. We’ll ride together to the base of Mt. Diablo, then ride to the junction at our own pace. If you run out of energy or time before getting to the junction, feel free to turn around and head back to the shop.

Sunset is at 7:42 p.m.
Twilight ends at 8:09 p.m.

This ride has the option of co-ed or women only

Get there early. We leave promptly at 6:15pm. No exceptions, since we have less than two hours of daylight.
BRING A LIGHT and Allow time for commute hour traffic!

Meet at California Pedaler before 6:15pm, ready to roll!
495 Hartz Avenue
Danville, CA

If going south on I-680, Take the Diablo Rd exit, Turn right on Diablo Rd. Turn left at Hartz Ave - go 0.2 mi

If going north on I-680, Take the Sycamore Valley Rd W exit, Turn left at Sycamore Valley Rd. Turn right at San Ramon Valley Blvd. go 0.5 mi. Continue on Hartz Ave for another 0.2 mi

If you are riding your bike from BART, give yourself plenty of time to get to the shop. It’s 8 miles and a lot of traffic lights. Head East on Ygnacio Valley Blvd. Turn Right on Main Street. This road will take you all the way to the bike shop but will change names from Main St. to Danville Blvd. to Hartz Ave.

I've felt blessed the last two thursdays - perfect weather for Mt. Diablo!

I can certainly tell how out of shape I've become over the rainy season. But I think these weekly rides will be just what I need - well that and a ton of riding during my two months off which starts at the end of May ~ yippee!

so another thing I think I will vastly improve is my descending skill. Mt. Diablo is great for that because of all the corners. And coming down on the south side is gradual enough that I don't get too freaked out.

And next week, more daylight!

oh, p.s. - ride on Sunday:

30 miles, 630 feet of climbing

Meet us at the Pleasanton BART station around 9:45 for a 10am ride.

*Take BART or drive. Meet us in the reserved parking area near Owens Drive. See: http://bart.gov/docs/permit/pk_dublinpleasanton.pdf

We’ll break up into two groups by average speed:
* 12-16mph
* 16mph +

Hope to see you there!

Here’s the route: http://www.oaklandyellowjackets.org/memberaccess/clubroutes/PleasantonLivermore_L.pdf
**we’ll bring route sheets

Ooh, I will keep that in mind, cindysue. Let's hope for some nice weather.

How rainy does it have to be before you guys call it off?

safety first is our motto, so group rides will typically get cancelled with any serious threat of rain.

today was sort of a wierd day. The weather gods in walnut creek couldn't make up their minds: sun, rain, sun, rain.

Hopefully it is a sign that things are transitioning.

we'll decide Sunday by 8am if the Pleasanton ride is a go or not....

HAPPY RIDING AND HAPPY EGG DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was a window of sunshine here yesterday, so I raced to my room and got my shorts and jersey on and ran back to the kitchen to fill my bottles and looked out the window and it was raining again. I was so depressed. I stood at my sliding glass door and watched the rain fall. My husband came in and laughed at me and called me a poser!

It is too much. Everyone is promising a nice Tuesday - but I'm not getting my hopes up.

The Easter candy isn't helping, either!:(
