Hello I am going to start racing. First, I need to know if there are any websites that can help me with training? I have done the race clinic with the Bay Area Women's Club but now I want to set my goals and start training. I have the Bernal loop here in San Jose that I climb and then do a loop around our local Almaden Lake to return home. When it's clear I ride this loop twice a week and try to do atleast a longer ride on the weekend 30 miles. Thanks for helping, B.

Best of luck on racing! It is very exciting. Are you going to do criteriums, road races, time trials, mountain bike...track...cyclocross...bmx? I've done all these except track and cyclocross, although perhaps I will some day.

I don't race anymore, but I did for about 5 years back in the 80s and 90s. I guess my priorities have shifted a bit, although I'm always trying to beat my best time on my commute to work!

My advice would be to keep at it. It's a multi-year sport...you get better every year, not only in one season. Have fun and let us know how it goes.
