I've never worn biking clothing before, trusting to my older dancing clothes (cotton leggings), but they've kinda bit the bucket and I was in the market for a new pair of shorts. My husband has suggested that I get "real" biking shorts with the butt pad and such. I ordered a pair of the baggy shorts from mt borah, according to my sizing, but exactly how should they fit? I feel like they're too large in my hip/waist area, but too small in my thighs. They're snug everywhere but my waist (I was expecting this - my waist is 15" smaller than my hips), but they do feel as if they will slide around my hips. They're tight enough on my legs that they feel as if they won't slide around.
The padding contributes to the "falling down" feeling around my hips, and I would assume that once the padding starts to conform to me, it'll stop feeling like that. Should I be concerned about the fit on my hips? If I go down another size, the baggy part will no longer fit.
And as much as I'd like to take them out on my bike to give them a "run in" period, I'm out a bit of money if they end up not feeling right.
Any suggestions on whether these fit properly or not? if not, any suggestions on shorts (preferably the baggy style) that are made for women with *huge* thighs, large hips, and tiny waist?
Thanks!
