Make sure you watch the little movie in "In Action."
I don't know...Seems pretty fidgety to me.

That's kinda neat. I'd like to hear the opinion of someone who's used it.

It'd have to be a one-shot deal, though, for something short, because it would really be a pain to refill at a SAG.
Too bad I'm not doing gels right now. I'm a gadget freak, but it looks over-engineered to me.
I'll post if anyone on the Ultra list says they've tried it.

Well I showed the link to Thom and just ordered two of them.
I won't have them for this weekend, so they'll get tried out on our first double next weekend.

Hey, would you buy one of those Viagra Saddles and try that on your first double, too? I am eager to hear a long-distance report on that saddle.
(Hope the Gel-Bots work out- you're brave!)

I'll have a second water bottle, so even if it doesn't work, I'll have something. I use Hammer Gel and I'm not thrilled with the packets. So, we'll see how this works.
No dice on the saddle. :D I'm VERY happy with my Brooks.

Have you ever used a gel flask, that mounts on your stem or wherever? Those are wonderful!!! Now if only e-Gel would sell their stuff in the big bottles...

I have a little flask, that I keep in my jersey pocket. That works okay. This weekend I'm trying a mini water bottle. It fits in jersey pocket, but holds a lot more.

I took the gel bot out today. It works as advertised. It will be interesting to see what refilling it during a ride is like. I'm bringing extra wet wipes just in case. I liked getting my gel separate from my water. Together I couldn't tell how much gel I was actually getting. But it was much easier to just reach for my water bottle rather than fumbling in my jersey for a flask.

I've heard these are great, and I'm thinking of getting one for the Shasta Summit Century, now that I've discovered a love for Carb-Boom orange/vanilla gels.
Question: How many gels does the gel-flask hold?

Looks like it was developed by a gynecologist to me!

I may have to try this after some reviews are posted. I can't stand those foil packs. But, I love my polar bottle, great insulation.

I got a Gel-Bot, and I officially love it! I used it for the first time yesterday on an 80-miler, and it worked exactly as it is claimed to work. Easy to fill, easy to use. Easy to get the gel out of, easy to drink out of.
My only complaint is that it only holds about 1.5 gels. Still, for those times when you don't have to fumble with anything to get to that gel, it was really great. And, it is easy to fill, so I refilled it 1/2 way through the ride.
I really liked how easy it made to take 1 mouthful of gel at a time without having to reach into a jersey and then leave an open gel back in the pocket, or bento box, or whatever. Really handy.
This product works!!

I have decided to try one. I found a bike shop that is only a short 20 mile ride from my house that sells them so, next time out I will stop in. I can't stand the foil packs.

Why not just mix the gel into the water? I carry one water bottle with a blend of Endurox and gel. Tastes weird, but boosts you up the hills!

I suppose that would work, too! :)
I have a growing addiction to CarbBoom gels in the orange/vanilla flavor, and I have to admit the full flavor treat of the straight gel is a little treat on the bike that I look forward to as an enticement to finish out my miles! Morale, you know!

Our LBS finally got the Gel Bots in. Since it's so hot here, I usually freeze the water bottles and head out. I've not tried it with the Gel Bot because I don't know how Carb Boom freezes. Anyone know?
My first blunder with the Gel Bot happened when I didn't secure the lid to the gel thingie and when I pulled the lid from the bottle, the gel thingy slipped down to the bottom of the bottle. Then the Carb-Boom dissolved into the water. :o
Today I took it and used the chocolate cherry flavored Carb Boom and it worked fine. I need to remember to bring extra gels though. I wonder if the manufacturer will eventually offer larger size gel thingies so that you can actually put 2 gels in the bottle?
