I less than three this. It's even open-source and Linux-friendly.
I could just see the night riding possibilities now. I mean who could claim they "didn't see you" when your wheels look like this:

Okay, okay, so it's probably not very practical, but I thought it was too cool not to share . :D

roughingit, very cool. It's nice to see an OS implementation. I especially like the biohazard and pacman logos. :)
Personally I don't have time to breakout the soldering iron these days so I went commercial. Hokey Spokes (http://www.hokeyspokes.com/) makes these also but use less LEDs so there are less patterns. Still, it's nice having someone else make them. ;) I first found these out from Veronica (thanks V!) when she mentioned them in the Primavera thread from last year. :) They're currently not on the commuter since I need to get them cleaned up and working again but they will be soon probably.
I like being seen at night. :) :D

I can just see drivers running off the road in astonishment, while trying to get a good look at the "UFO" that just whizzed past them! :p

Melody, I like those! Some of the patterns are really pretty and those look much easier to install.
Nuthatch, I could just see the headlines now, "North Eastern Oregon Beseiged by UFOs!" (Hey, what can I say, they don't have much "news" here ;) )
