Sounds like a fun and interesting trip! How many days did you spend in each country?

8 days in southern france, 4 days in Barcelona, Spain (we didn't have time to do other Spanish areas) and rest in Germany (Rothenburg ob der Tauber town and overnighting in Frankfurt) for a total of 17 days including the day(s) spent on flying across Canada. and the Atlantic. There will be more blog posts early next year.. have others ready to leap out in the open and they've been ready for last 6 months. :)
