TWICE!!!! Yeah, that's right I TOUCHED HIM!!! :D
Ok, so if your not a Bon Jovi fan, could care less, well close this post and move on... But if you have ever grooved to a Bon Jovi hit- I think you'll appreciate this...
Ok, let me rewind the tape here... Brrrrrrrpppppttt (sound of tape rewinding- so 80's :D )....
First off it's like the planets were all aligned for me in some weird cosmic thing.. Ok, so the concert is one month to the DAY before IMAZ. I've been through alot over the years (cervical cancer twice in 01-02) and Bon Jovi's "never let em get you down" tunes have helped me through. In 02 I was determined to do the NYC marathon despite the fact that I had been sick and had ballooned up to 220 lbs. Well I did it w/ my cousin. We were WAY behind, they ran out of gatorade, she broke her foot at mile 18, but we were determined to finish. I sang her Bon Jovi songs all the way to the finish- 7.5 hours later.. UGH!
So Bon Jovi songs are a big part of my training for this race as well. So the fact that the concert is a month to the day from the race kinda made me feel like there was something else at work there...
So on to yesterday. It started w/ me seeing them getting off their plane at the executive terminal at the airport. I almost wrecked my car!! :p
So then we get to the concert and our seats were AWESOME! We were 9th row on the floor, but we were on an aisle on a side wing near the stage, and the ADA wheelchair seats were right in front of us so we had plenty of open space. I had heard that Jon was surprising the crowd by going down and singing in the crowd. So I casually mentioned to my cousin that this would be the PERFECT area for him to go... Ohh I'm a WISE one!! So sure enough he came by like three times. The first time I missed him, but the second time he grabbed my cousins arm and then I was able to touch him. He sweated on us!! ha ha!!! And then at the end he went all through the crowd for the finale so we were able to touch him again.
They also filmed a music video for "who says you can't go home". So they did the song three times and we are all going to be in it! I'm going to be in a Bon Jovi video!! How cool is that?!!
It was just an AWESOME concert!! They played for 2.5 hours!! Oh- and my absolute FAVE BJ "pick me up" song *bounce* has not been on their set list all tour. Well they did it lastnight!!!!! It was like they knew or something?!!
Again- HOW COOL IS THAT??!!!
Ok, so I'm just a BIT giddy as you can prolly tell!! :D :D :D :D
My ears are still ringing, I'm butt tired, can't hear a thing- but I'm GIDDY!!:D
Ok. Thanks for indulging me.. Now back to your regularly scheduled cycling forum...:)
