How do I keep my cell phone from turning on the WiFi? I keep turning it off and hour or two later it turns it back on. I want it off to minimize the drain on the battery. I'm not using WiFi for internet connection and such. It's frustrating!!
And it keeps trying to log into google. What's with that? It keeps telling me that it failed to log in. DOHHH it doesn't know my account nor my password. Well I don't use my google account anyway.
About once a day, the phone resets and restarts itself.
Lastly, it has managed to corrupt my microSD cards: count is 3 so far.
So do I have a dead brick of sort?
Oh its an Android phone.

Doesn't sound good, but is there a way to reset the touch screen? That would be the first thing I'd try, and the procedure (if it's possible) will depend on the phone manufacturer.
Next you might try a factory reset (always a last resort in my book, it's such a hassle getting everything back where it was) - on my Motorola Droid Mini it's under Settings>Personal>Backup & Reset. But you'll want to back it up first, obviously, which you'll back it up to Google...
Is it even possible to log out of Google on an Android phone? Android is a Google product. My phone doesn't let me log out of Google. I can log out on the browser (which I use Firefox for whatever good it does), but not on the main phone account. Logging into Google is the first thing you do when you set up a new Android phone.

And here I thought I was the only person who thought that factory resets were a hassle. So many people casually recommend them for the slightest problem with a phone or tablet.
Is the phone new or old? If it's fairly new I'd take it to the store where you got it or try online tech support from the manufacturer to see if they can help you troubleshoot. If it's old, you might need to do the reset.
You might also want to install and run the Malwarebytes app or something similar to check for bad viruses, etc.

How much memory is available on it? These are the kinds of things that happen when it's full.

two of them had about 1Gbyte of unused space last one had about 15.5Gbyte unused when the phone decided to re-format or corrupt it for good.
I'm just about ready to switch over to iphone and pay through my bleeding nose.

Pretty sure she meant the phone itself, not the expansion card.

Sorry for the late response. In general smart phones like about 10% available memory. Phone has 16gb capacity, at least 1.5 go free. When it's less than that I find exactly what's happening to you occurs; phone gets poltergeists, stuff vanishes Etc. I'd start by backing it up and then delete stuff.
