help with the light

Hello,
I am afraid to ride in the evening when it is late because I do not own special bike lights. I use the headlamp and try to be very careful. But I realize that it is very dangerous. Could you please offer any affordable solution. My budget max is $50.

I got it at my LBS for $35 I think because it was the last one of its kind as the new ones came in, and because they like us I guess. Well worth it. 500 lumens, you will have all the lumens! You will win the lumen wars.

The other thing I love about it is the tiny side light because often we forget side visibility. An affordable way to help that is Scotch reflective tape and or TE reflective stickers on the bike and other gear.

I also keep one of these in the bag. USB rechargeable so I can plug it in at work. I like to have two lights;

One with all the lumens that slightly points down so I can see potholes and train tracks and stuff.

The Knog, which is not as bright (but read the listing because some of them really are! So they are an affordable option) points straight ahead. That one says to oncoming traffic "Hey! I'm riding here" but does NOT blind them.

I have a similar Light and Motion headlight and I like it very much.

And I agree about reflective tape, stickers -- they're a good inexpensive way to make you visible to drivers or other cyclists, anyone with a light shining on you. I also have reflective wrist and ankle bands for riding at night. I also have a reflective vest, though I don't wear it much anymore because I've bought some jerseys and jackets with lots of reflective accents.

Also, I’m going to buy through Ebay LED valve caps. I hope it will add brightness to the wheels.

Reflective tape, stickers.... Hmmm... Good idea. It is not expensive and will be good for visibility.
