View Full Version : Anyone been on Zwift yet? (The virtual reality multiplayer platform for the trainer)
I just discovered Zwift and I am LOVING it. I have never spent so much time on the trainer....
The men on there are a kicking my a$$ ....they are so fast I can't keep up with them. There are some women, but not many. I am just wondering if women have not discovered it yet or why in general there are not more women. I am still figuring things out on Zwift, but I think it's a fascinating environment.
Anyone else been on there?

I looked at it briefly. I think Ted King and Evelyn Stevens are both involved with it -- they've mentioned it on twitter. But I haven't tried it. I'm still riding outside, haven't gotten the trainer out of storage yet.

I had looked at it but it comes to $10US per month. I already pay $10 monthly for Sufferfest on-line. Plus my personal trainer for my own programs. Gets to a point where riding will become quite expensive if we want it all. :) But it does look like fun.

I'm using it. The new work-out mode is quite good and the graphics are awesome on a big screen. Strava premium members get 2 months free each year so that helps bring the cost down, although $10 US/mo really hurts us Cannucks! There are more and more women using Zwift all the time, hopefully the trend will continue. I kind of like riding with the guys...makes me feel good when I can keep up or have them try to draft on me :)

I'm new to using a trainer, bought one day after Christmas and have been researching the best way to use it. Zwift looks like a lot of fun, but Inkind of doubt that my ancient MacBook ( 10+ years) will handle the graphics. I really only use it to update my iPad, can't even use it with my iPhone any longer as it can't accept any more iTunes updates.
So with just a year old iPad mini, I assume I'm out of luck using Zwift?
I've been researching Zwift., Trainer road and Sufferfest since an organized approach would probably be the most fun for me, but I'm finding it hard figuring out how it all works and what I need to get going.
Yes, I'm old! 57!
