I got an Orbea Orca Aqua TSR from Sun and Ski. Itis 2013 model and was reduced from $900 to $549. It felt comfortable, and I love the look of it. Riding it was so much fun. I need to name it though. It is the same bike as the one picture I attched. Can you help me name it? Yaay, I am ready for the roads.

Congratulations and have lots of fun!

I can't help you with a name. I have two cats sitting here that I adopted over a month ago. I didn't like the names they came with, so now they're just New Kitty I and New Kitty II. Or just He/Him and She/Her.

Old Kitty?

It does keep things simple. The vet wrote the names in pencil in their folders until I decide. I've narrowed down the choices, remembering that there will always be nicknames.

Why do you have to name them?
Mine are "the Trek," and "the Guru."

Both of my bikes are road bikes, so hence, that is why I call them by their brand names. I did not call my mountain bike "the Norco" when I had it; it was the mountain bike. I also called my Coda, the Jamis, not the hybrid.

I have two bikes, a road bike and a hybrid that I started with, but ride infrequently. Poor hybrid, I guess it doesn't even get called the hybrid because I never refer to it. I just say "my bike" and refer to the road bike.

Sometimes the name will emerge on its own. My blue road bike was named after I saw a photo of a wildflower of the same hue- the Latin name of the flower is Veronica, the common name is Speedwell. So - Veronica Speedwell. When I got my touring bike, it was immediately clear that her name would have to be Betty. My husband had an old steel Specialized that had not distinguishing marks- we used to call it "the stealth bike". Then he got the bike built up from a Russian titanium frame- it acquired the name "the imposter". So give it some time....

I've named my new bike and I haven't even bought it yet. Tehanu, from the Earthsea books.

There are a bunch of bike-naming threads around here, but I don't name mine either.

From the threads, it does appear most people do.

OMG, so many threads. All our bikes have names; Knott's Waterford is Flosshilde or you can call her Flossie for short :) , her Salsa Vaya and the Soma names escape me at the moment, the Soma is something French. My Mondonico is Menace, Soma is as of yet unnamed, my Salsa Vaja is Salsa Verde ... I did not have a name for my departed Trek 420 namesake.
