Bike improvement weekend!

So, BF was a very good BF this past weekend. The road bike and the CX bike have pretty much been neglected for a while (too hot to ride, and I am still not a morning person), so BF leveraged his bike shop job (read "bribed his mechanic buddy with sandwiches") to get them fixed up for me (we did some of it ourselves, but T the Wrench did the heavy lifting). My CX bike has been tuned up (the rear brake no longer makes noise!) and been kitted up with some Gatorskins for road riding. The roadie is also back in riding shape, and we finally got around to putting the wheels that have been in my closet for two years on it. Turns out the new rims are a bit deeper than my old ones, so now I need to replace my tube stash. Oops.

BF also got me about a metric ton of Shot Bloks, new pedals for the Iguana and the CX bike (M780s!), a rack for the CX bike (we'll have to see how it handles under load), and a new helmet (Giro Aeon).

I guess I'd better start riding again.:o

Nice! No excuses, now you can get out there and ride.

p.s. I also am still not a morning person, and I never will be. All things being equal I prefer to ride in daylight, but having a couple of good headlights lets me ride after dark when I would otherwise not be able to ride at all.

You pretty much have to be a morning person to ride in Tucson... but next month you could enjoy a ride around the "loop" road at Saguaro NP east under the full moon.

Glad your bf was so kind to fix up the bikes for you :)
