HI everyone,
I have enjoyed reading everyones post. I have a question.
How do you like womans designs? I am 5'4 135 and a aggressive rider.

I am purchasing either a Trek 5.2 madone or a Ruby. I do Ironman triathlons. This bike will be used for that. I didnt like my Cervelo P2k. Only because I have to climb on every ride I do.

I see everyone likes the Ruby.. Awesome bike for road. But was told not so good for long distance tris.
Help that would be great...
Thanks ,
Kas

I'm nearly 5'5" and I was looking at Pilots yesterday (not on your list I know), But I didn't like how scrunched I felt on the WSD model. I much preferred the regular model. At your height, I'd certainly try them both.

I am a bit over 5'5" and just purchased a ruby. The first bike I looked at was Felt T23

http://www.feltracing.com/06/06_triathlon/t23/

it is listed as a tri bike, but actually straddles the line between road and tri bikes. We tried to get it to fit, but no matter what we did, the reach was still too long for me. I guess I am a leggy 5'5" (what an oxymoron) because the wsd put me in a much more comfortable position. The geometry is almost identical to the Vita Multisport, which like the t23 is supposed to be good for road racing or tri's. I am planning to do some spint tri's and my first international distance, in addition to some long bike rides. I do not know enough about doing an Iron Man to comment upon the ruby's suitability for such an event.

well... i'm not sure about tris... but it sure is great for long distance "regular" rides! (i.e. centuries)

kasdas, a friend of mine got a Quintana Roo bike, which are specifically made for tris, and loves it. She did an Ironman on it last year. I can find out the make/model, if you're interested.

Did you buy the 2006 Trek 5000 or did you get an '05. I am contemplating the '06 5000 but am on the fence about the components and the fit of the WSD model.
