I suddenly realized....at a music concert last weekend that another reason why I've stuck to cycling for last...23 yrs. is that not only are endorphins addictive but also I tend to be inspired by highly sensory experiences.
And cycling is highly sensory, not just listening to your body but also ever-changing scenery as you bike along, without distractions of team players (if you choose to go solo) around you. You smell, hear things much more actutely. I am a visual learner also....I need to touch, see to learn /master a skill. And to me, seeing something new while cycling around is part of "learning" / seeing anew my world.
I do go into the "zone" sometimes when cycling but still highly alert.
