National Bike To Work Day

Just wanted to share that here in New Zealand it is national bike to work day. I stopped in at one of the stalls on the way to work and got myself a free breakfast, and some freebies like a puncture repair kit. Felt really great to have permission to be out commuting to work - and even to be given a free breakfast for my trouble! :)

How fun is that!! I can't remember when ours is but I was surprised to learn that my city offered "stuff" for bike commuters. Of course, they were downtown and I commute out on the edge of town - but it's the thought that counts!

Cool! We had a bike to work day, but, as with CorsairMac, all the goodies were downtown. Maybe this year I can manage to not work that day, and bike downtown instead. If I do, I'll let you know what goodies Chicago offers!

Here in Boston, the bike to work week is usually in May. So to be sure of my recall, I just did a google search, and low and behold...May is National Bike Month. No wonder bike to work week was in May! :D

Maybe we could hold an informal survey around the world to see who gets the best goodies on the day and put pressure on the less generous to improve the goody bag ;)
