Many years ago when I was in college I was hit by a car while crossing the street. The accident wrecked both knees badly but the right was worse. I lost one of my anterior crucate ligaments and most of the cartilage. Finally after many year of weight loss, 7 years of riding and countless hours in the gym with a trainer teaching my right leg to work properly, I have achieved parity in my knee strength in spite of severe arthritis in the right knee (45 years of no cartilage). Yesterday at the gym I successfully did 20 single leg press with my right knee at 120 pounds which is the same weight that I can do on my left. I also did 25 double leg press at 240 pounds which is more than I have ever pressed before! Not bad for an arthritic 66 year old still out of shape woman.

Woot! Yay you! Though I'm not sure where you get the "still out of shape." Compared to Jens maybe ...

I told your story to a woman I met on my ride today. Her mother has just added bicycling to her exercises to help with maintaining knee joint mobility and strengthen her leg muscles.

Letting you know cuz sometimes we don't know when our words help others. :)

I want to be just like you when I grow up! Minus the car accident portion. You're a true inspiration!
