Ha, ha, that's pretty funny. Well, I haven't fainted on the road, but I've felt like it.

Other than not wearing a garden party hat with my bloomers I’m good with all those don’ts :)

oooOOOhhhh and…it's so good to see the land of coquetry and love of admiration on 'The Map of the Open Country of a Woman’s Heart' is soooooooooo big :D

What is a 'bicycle face' and how would I cultivate one?

lol… I promise to never wear a garden party hat with bloomers, I've never fainted, much less on the road and I don't believe I've ever worn white kid gloves. The rest I've probably already broken so :p

I actually found that list pretty heartening :-). Some women were obviously already having a blast breaking unwritten rules of how a woman was supposed to behave. I can just imagine a turn-of-the-century lady racing the "scorchers", contesting the right of way with cable cars, and boasting of her long rides, in loudly hued (or matching) clothing :-D

That list would make a great poster for my office! :)

I don't usually scream when I see a cow. I tend say, "hi cows!" and moo at them :D

I don't say hi, but I do moo at them. Have no idea why.

I do this too! My husband thinks I'm ridiculous. I say hi to horses, goats, sheep, etc., too.

So either I'm not crazy or we're ALL crazy because I moo at cows too! lol

My DH moos at cows. I don't.
I think I would have been one to have broken all of these rules if I lived in that era. I am assuming that bloomers were the "cycling shorts" of the day.
And I *did* wear white kid gloves many many times until I was about 13 or 14. On holidays, to synagogue, dancing school. Boy, times were different. Wasn't too long after that, that I was wearing bell bottoms, black turtlenecks, and long, silver, dangly earrings, screaming at the police on the Boston Common.

OK, so we say hi to horses, goats, and sheep but we moo at cows. Why the difference? Do not the sheep deserve a baaaaah?

Ha, that's a good question!

I don't think we have sheep around here, but I admit I've "laaaaaaambed" when I do see them.
I'm an introvert. It's sometimes easier to talk to animals than humans ;)
