The Methow valley, Winthrop area has lots of great riding with plenty of beginner trails. And it's gorgeous.

Duthie Park in Issaquah has some beginner trails as does St. Edwards park over near Kirkland/Kenmore. You might want to check out the Evergreen Mt. Bike alliance web site - they have a trail finder for all of Washington http://trails.evergreenmtb.org/trails it lets you sort by area and difficulty.

Washington is a very big state. Are you on the west side, central, or east side, and are you looking for local or road trips?
Its too bad the Carlton plus 6 other fires are smoking out the Okanogan (Winthrop/Methow) area right now.

Eden thank you so much for the web site. It's got a ton of helpful info on it.

Winthrop is definitely on our list of places to check out. We just didn't have enough time to get down there this trip looking forward to getting down there next year.

Yep, it's a big state but we really didn't have any destination picked out and only one criteria, gotta have awesome mountain biking.

I think Olympia, is best for mountain biking.

I'm not that familiar with that area, could you provide more details? Where about in Olympia should I be looking? Keep in mind I just started mountain biking and I've been sticking to the easy/beginner trails.
