My Ti Seven Mudhoney frame should be arriving within the next 7-10 days. I am stoked! We have saddle, seat-post, fork, wheels...now the wait is on Shimano to crank out my Ultegra Di2 components ASAP (as of now they are apparently out-of-stock and have been for a while). Kinda bummed that I won't likely have my new ride in time for the One Day Ride Across MI (http://www.odram.com). But it will be kinda nice to give my trusty Cdale SuperSix a 3rd trip across the state before he is converted into a bit of a pseudo TT bike.

Is the Mudhoney a cross or road bike?

They market it as a CX bike...but...it's mostly just semantics. It will have hydro disc brakes and I plan to use it for road, gravel, and CX races. Eventually I will get a 2nd set of wheels so that I don't have to change tires to change my ride surface.

Yeah, with seven the design in terms of ride characteristics, components and accessories that you work out with them is what guides the build.

I’ve never regretted for a second buying my seven. Hoping you enjoy yours as much as I do mine!!!

there are some Ultegra Di2 group sets on the net...excel sports (http://www.excelsports.com/main.asp?page=8&description=Ultegra+6870+Di2+11+Speed+Group&vendorCode=SHIM&major=1&minor=5) says they have them in stock.

I'm especially interested in hearing from you as we are both mesomorphs and appear to prefer a stiff set-up with 'fast' geometry. (Correct?).

Yup! This should end up about midway between my Redline CX bike and my road bike...pretty much exactly where I've always said I'd like a dream bike to be.

Unfortunately our LBS (that we are part owners of) is having a tough time finding the available components from Shimano. We could order them from another retailer, but then lose out on the wholesale pricing.

A friend just got his Seven (an Evergreen) and is totally in love. He's suddenly looking for hills to tackle! :D

What do you mean? Geometry? How so?

Slightly less aggressive than my road bike, but moreso than my CX.

Still no word...should be in the coming week. But the bummer is that my specific mechanicals may not be available anytime soon. Shimano Ultegra Di2 with hydro brakes comes as a package deal and is thus far only being put on full factory bikes...groups intended for custom builds is the thing Shimano isn't able to keep up with. So I may have to wait until pretty much all 2015 models have rolled off the assembly lines before there will be available parts for my bike. So sad that I may not have my bike fully assembled and ridable until late in the CX season and may not have it to do any gravel races, either, or for the JDRF ride in Death Valley.

Some of my friends who still work at bike shops have been having the same problem. (Said friend is also building up a CX bike.) From what I've seen, finding parts from Shimano late in the road season is hard, especially if you're looking for the "pro deals."

Any chance you can transfer the components from your Redline until the new group set arrives? What wheels are you building for it? :-) That way, you could be riding it in the first cross races and then feel the upgrade to the new components.

Nope. Totally non-compatible...going from SRAM rim-brake set-up with quick-release wheels to a hydro disc thru-axle set-up with Shimano Di2. Everything Shimano is producing is essentially for mass-produced bikes, at this point. Custom customers are pretty much SOL for a few months. Bummer. Had we known this we would have gotten my order in months earlier than we did. It may be a Christmas present, at this point.

Oh, that is a total bummer. I can see you riding in the snow on Xmas, if it takes that long to get the parts. :D

Well, I have a frame and assorted parts...just no complete bike until Shimano's Di2/hydraulic brake production can catch up.

Whisky #9 thru-axle (will have disc brakes). A friend ordered the same fork for his Seven, but he doesn't expect to have his ready for about another year (he's building it as he can afford parts) and Whisky has been sold-out for a while, so he's going to let us have it and he'll wait or pick up a #7.
