I'm in need of a metric century with a bit of hills so I can survive the Solvang Century with yellow.
Anyone interested in joining the Bubbameister and me that Sunday? PayDays will be provided.
Start: Either the town of Winters or Lake Solano Park (west of Winters)
Time: Let's talk
Length: 62 from Winters or about 55 miles from the Park
Climbing: About 3,300 ft all in the first half
Portions of this course are or were part of the Foxy's Fall Century.
We’ll climb along Putah Creek up the canyon to Lake Berryessa, over the Monticello Dam and Cardiac Hill. We’ll head to Moskowite Corner (food stop), to Wooden Valley, to Gordon Valley, Mankas Corner and Fairfield (food stop). We’ll turn north and have a nice smooth ride all the way north up the Pleasants Valley back to Winters or Lake Solano Park.
Of course, nasty weather cancels.

Did someone say PayDays ????
OK, we're there.
(I'm flying to DC that Tuesday instead of Sunday)

Cool. You are so easy. We may be sick of each other by the end of the weekend. Just exchanged the Amtrak SF tickets for San Jose and the bike show.
Care to place any bets on whether we're going to make that 5:55 am train on Saturday? Or how many clocks it takes to have an alarm go off at the right time? :o :( :p

Great Ride. I highly recommend it! And Gordon Valley is knock down beautiful at this time of the year (I rode both directions yesterday).
AND SK- You'll love the Solvang century. Another winner on the century list!

I'd love to join you, but that's the day I have slated for my long ride for Solvang DC prep. Have fun! (I will most likely bring some Paydays along on my ride in your honor!)

Sarah, I'm sure we'll find one day this riding season to hook up.

Gee, I just pulled out my KREBS MAP and this looks like a really great ride!! ;) I'd love to do it sometime. Let me know when you think you might be going for it again. Hey! Is there anywhere to camp up there? Maybe we can go camping up there next weekend and Blaine and I could ride with you. Blaine can push me up the hard hills. :)

Slinke, it's a great ride, we passed thru a bit of it on our ride yesterday. And the one hill is comparable to the last hill before we rolled into Benecia, and you seemed fine on that.
And like Nancy said, there's a campground at Lake Solano park.

Good one, jobob.
This would be a good ride for the Krebs Queen.:D We go by Lake Solano park going both directions so it would be easy for us to pick you up on the way.
The Sierra to the Sea Tour uses Lake Solano park for one night so it's probably reasonable to stay in.

Oh, that one. I was glad to make it up that one. But I think I do need an older granny. My knees hurt today.
I'm not looking at the Krebs map. I won't look. I won't.
