Such a success story! The student-athletes train on the same course on which the National Collegiate Championships will take place next weekend and the UCI World Championship road races in 2015.

That's awesome :)
I always say I wish I had started riding in organized events way earlier. I think it would have really helped me when I was having mood issues in college and would have been a really positive way to change my outlook in high school when I was going through things. However, I think it's especially great that these kids are getting something positive in the inner city. Bikes are an incredibly useful thing to have and also teach you life skills. They are also incredibly empowering (especially for women, I think).
It's great that someone is sharing this with kids who couldn't otherwise afford it but are just as "deserving" if not moreso since they do this despite all of the barriers to entry.

Thanks!! Just amazing! And I hope this will be the beginning of more acceptance for cycling by the general public. Instead of just soccer, football, basketball, swimming being reported in local paper, how grand would it be if there are results of high school cycling races.
A step in the right direction!!

One of our local high schools has a mountain bike race team. Our club has "adopted" them. Their coach is a really neat guy who has been working for more high school teams. The girls on his team have been doing very well.
