We spent a long weekend in Maine (Sat. - Tues.) to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday. We had a good time; I enjoyed reconnecting with my siblings - 3 sisters, 2 brothers. It's been a LONG time since all of us have been together. We found a gym right down the road from sister's that takes walk ins for a $5.00/day fee, so we managed to work out every day too. I had a few of my favorite Maine foods, an Italian, a lobster roll, a whoopie pie. :D
But it's good to be home. Yesterday I was still pretty tired since we didn't get home until 11 PM our time and had gotten up at 2 AM our time so we could workout before going to one last family breakfast. If you're ever in Gorham, ME I recommend the corned beef hash at the Blue Pig. They make it themselves and it is SO far removed from the canned variety.
I'm still on vacation, so today I have cooked chicken for Thom's lunch and prepped chicken to cook for dinner, had a long Tucker Cat snuggle, clipped both kitties' claws, gone grocery shopping and for a twenty mile ride on my road bike. I haven't been on my road bike since last July. It was fun and I didn't have to work as hard as I do on my mountain bike - only 350 feet of climbing in the route I picked. I managed to let my log in to my work email expire while we were gone. Somehow, I am surviving not checking my email and I haven't done any planning yet either. I did do a little grading yesterday. I should probably think about doing a little yard work before it gets too hot. But Tucker has just joined me...
