Wondering if people here have posted their profile or use LinkedIn. I continue to be a bit stunned how much info. people post on their work history. I never did and actually gave up on LinkedIn because of unwanted trolls/spammers or whatever. But then I never posted my resume on the open Internet prior to social media tools.

I know it supposed to be a great business networking tool. Frankly it gives me the slight creeps because it reaches people outside of one's own professional circles..that you don't care to be in contact --at all.

I am in no media tools (like linkedin, FB, etc.). But being in HR I can tell you we found a lot of answers to our questions. It's unbelievable how some people are opened books on those medias. People should be careful in what they are saying on those medias. It is a big...and small world at the same time. So for me, no LinkedIn, etc.

I am on Linked In, but have quite limited information that is limited to strictly professional information. I don't have a resume, just my current skill set.

I'm on Linked In, as a way to be able to contact former co-workers if needed. I don't use it much, and don't remember what I have in my profile. It's probably not up to date.

I work in online education and in social media. My stuff is all out there. Of course, I used to work in the intelligence field so I have no illusions about privacy anyway.

TrekDianna, I always joke that if you have a bank account and file a tax return, "they" know everything about you anyway. I'm not so far off, am I?

Not far off at all :) If you have a SSN and have had a job it's pretty much all out there
