I'm thinking of getting a new saddle for my road bike, but not completely sure what to get. I recently got my boyfriend a B17 Narrow, which he loves, but assume it won't really fit me as well. My saddle and handlebars are at about the same height and I cycle in a quite forward leaning position, doing about 18 miles a day. From what I've seen so far people seem to have been getting B17 Standard or B17 S Standard . Would any of these be suitable for my road bike?

Many thanks,
Mikaela

It's really a matter of opinion. Saddles are a very personal choice. I know a couple of people who have Brooks on their road bike. I actually just ordered the b17 standard for mine. I'm hoping I love it. I generally do 40 miles on the weekend, but I'm hoping for some longer rides.

Did you get the B17 Standard S ladies one or just a normal B17 Standard? Let me know how you get on with it!

I got the normal aka standard B17, ordered the blue one. After I've put a few miles on it I'll give my .02 :) I should get it Thurs and then I have a 40 mile hilly ride planned for Saturday.

PS.............I wish this forum had a "like" button. Sheila gives good advice!

Sheila is quoting Knot and Goldfinch. ;)

Correction: Knot and Goldfinch give good advice and Sheila reiterates the excellent advice! :)
