Former Girl Scout here, chiming in to say, WWHOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!! Hoot, holler, etc. That means I should be getting mine soon! I get AT LEAST one of each kind every year. Gotta be loyal to the local 'Scouts.

Trek - visit your local supermarkets...I'm almost positive you'll see some being sold outside the entrances.

I highly recommend Thin Mints, Caramel Delites, and the Lemon Pastries. My fav's.

I ate almost a whole box of the lemon cookies before lunch. I figured out it was about 10 minutes of cycling 14-16 mph per serving!

Okay, I had to read this one about three times before I could get the image of a clothes dryer + girl scout cookies out of my head. Why would anyone want to put their GS cookies in the dryer !??!? Ha, ha! Ice cream, right?

My Girl Scout cookies are almost gone. I obviously didn't buy enough. Luckily I have two sources within walking distance of my house. If anyone really need GS cookies, let me know and we can get them to you!!! Hurry, though or the best ones will be gone!!! (Thin Mints and Tagalongs are always the first to go!)

Pedal Wench that is so sweet but Im probably better off not knowing what I am missing. Im pretty good at avoiding temptations with most foods but biscuits are my weekness. I have a cup of tea and bingo half the biscuit jar is empty:D My poor husband rarely gets a bicky with his cuppa.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS
Australian Desserts: Try these yummy Tim Tam recipes...

NAKED
Eat an icy-cold Tim Tam all on its lonesome. (Sound familiar? Icy cold Thin Mint?)

TIM TAM HEAVEN
Crush 3 Tim Tams up into a dessert bowl, pour 1 shot glass of Port or Muskat over them, top with sweetened cream and chocolate sprinkles.

TIM TAM SLAM
Also known as the TIM TAM Suck or TIM TAM Bomb. Grab a Tim Tam and a warm drink (coffee, milo or tea). Nibble both ends off the biscuit and use it as a straw for your drink. When its saturated, quickly SLAM it in your gob before it falls apart. It can get kinda messy, but who cares when it tastes that GOOD!

TIM TAM CHEWY CARAMEL EXPLOSION
At Arnotts (www.arnotts.com) they suggest the Chewy Tim Tam Caramel Explosion. Get 1 pack Chewy Caramel Tim Tams roughly chopped, 8 generous scoops Vanilla Ice-cream & 8 tbs Caramel Topping with Chocolate sprinkles to garnish.

TIM TAM THICKSHAKE
The Editors at www.coffeebreak.com.au recommend the "Tim Tam Thickshake". Mix a packet of Tim Tams, 8 scoops of vanilla icecream & 400ml milk in a blender. Rich, thick and full of chocolate. Hmmm.

TIM TAM MARTINI
Make the Tim Tam Thickshake (above) but add nip of Baileys (Irish Cream Liquor), Frangelico (Hazelnut Liquor), Kahlua (Coffee Liquor) or Creme de Menth (Mint Liquor) to it.

Bikerchick make sure you leave some space in your suitcase when you come so you can take some tim tams home.

Make sure you also try a biscuit here called mint slice, they are made by the same company that makes tim tams (Arnotts). Mint slice are a chocolate biscuit with a layer of mint cream on top coated in chocolate. They are devine.

If any of you ever manage to get hold of a packet of tim tams and can resist the urge of eating them all, put a few biscuits in a blender with milk and icecream - yummo.

I can't believe I've been here over 8 months now and the joys of Tim Tams have hitherto alluded me. I'm not to sure about the Naked TT thing though - the neighbours might petition.

Not wanting to fuel your excitement at all, but was in Sydney this past weekend.
It's my second visit to the city (my first was a 3 week stay, so got to know the city quite well).
I can honestly say that Sydney is one of the most fantastic cities I've ever been to! I'm sure you'll have an absolute blast - 5 days is a nice length of time to see and do so much.
I would live there in a heartbeat - my sister lived there for 4 years and was gutted to leave.
I'll happily post you some Tim Tams if you pm your address!

LOL... they would def have to be re-named here... a "coconut" is a derrogatory term here for Pacific Island people (Samoan, Rarotongan etc...)

I think different Councils use different bakeries and so you can get certain cookies only in specific areas of the country. There's another peanut butter cookie called Do-Si-Dos here in Chicago that are a pb sandwich cookie. Maybe that's like the ones you remember? The tagalongs are pb with a chocolate coating. I'd say the peanut butter makes either one a perfect energy bar for rides (as long as you don't mind licking the chocolate off your fingers!). Can you tell I'm a GS leader? :p

P.S. SF Bay Area folks can order their GS cookies on-line and the girls will deliver them right to your home!
