To everyone who celebrates.
Good thing latkes will go well with turkey.
Lit the menorah, let it burn out, and then left to go drink a beer and have veggie sliders at a new gastropub that opened up near here. See what happens when your kids grow up and move out?

Of all world's holidays, Chanukah is about my favorite.
It is unpretentious; lighting lights in a dark season is a great idea; it starts with one little light and by the end it can be a downright fire hazard; there's good food and a little gambling. All these things make a good celebration.
But the message is tip top: when you need a miracle you've got to step up and do something. If you take a look at the oil, and say "Well, no. That's not gonna work" and then go home there's no miracle. If you want a miracle, you've got to light the fire.
