Went out for my run today & noticed my bike wasn't in its usual spot in the garage. I've not been riding it lately but go for runs and always make sure it's in the same place, locked up on the bike rack. So between Tues and today it was swiped. Thick Kryptonite cable lock and all. I know I'm not getting it back - hopefully the renters insurance will cover it. Going to fill out a police report tomorrow. I'm just sad the apt office wasn't more concerned when I told them about it. They said sorry but the attitude was more or less "oh well".

That's too bad. Are there any security cameras in this garage? I take it it's a large garage for all of the tenants?

Ugh. That stinks. Like you needed something else to deal with. So sorry that happened, VBC.

What a shame. I had a bike stolen as a child and still remember how awful it felt.

Thanks for the kind replies all. I've filled out the police report & contacted the renters insurance company, so now it's just a matter of waiting.

((((VeganBikeChick)))). That sucks. I've had a bike or two stolen and it is a pretty crappy thing to go through. And from what others have said here, sounds like the last thing you need to be dealing with.

Thanks again. Surprisingly enough, I got a call from the claims adjuster 2 hours after calling them to make my claim. The check is in the mail, minus a $250 deductible. I'm pretty happy. Now the question is whether to get a replacement Casseroll or something else...

Glad they treated you right!

So it turns out the Salsa Casseroll is no longer made. The year I got mine was its last year of production. I'm so down - I just wanted to replace my bike. I loved that thing. I've checked a few bike stores here just to be sure, but nope. They're all long gone.

I'm sorry to hear your bike was stolen. I absolutely know how you feel. Our two bikes were stolen in August, but the police recovered them. His cost around $400 to repair. mine around $100 Make sure you take a very good photo and give it to the police. That's why they found ours. I will keep checking Craig's list in our area,Minneapolis-St Paul. The police said quite often bikes are stolen and then taken somewhere else for sale or sold as parts. Maybe all the posters could check for Craig's list as well,

What color is it?

I hope you find a bike you love soon.

Bike thieves are evil. So sorry, VBC. I feel your pain. Good to hear how responsive your insurance company was! Hope you are able to get a replacement ride quickly.
