Well, I still have my cast on but as of last Wed. it is a short one (just below my elbow) and I can straighten my arm so.... in between downpours, I actually got on my mtn bike and rode! :D
It was very awkward because I have to use the end of my cast to downshift (my hand is casted with my wrist bent sort of down and out) and I spent most of the time trying to keep weight off of the right arm... BUT, I did 6 miles and my legs felt great up the little hills etc! I know its jus a teensy ride but I can't tell you how crazy its made me not to be able to ride!
Also, I took dh's trek down (the one I ride now) and had it powdercoated. It looks candy apple'ish inside and in the shade but in the sun you can see a firey orange. I'm going to try to post a pic as well...
Caligurl, if you see this bike at tour of borrego, come say hi!!! I'm only doing the 22 miler because I'll have gotten my cast off the prev. wed... so look for this bike and an arm splint!!! ;)
thanks for letting me blab! I am SO excited!
