I live in the western suburbs of Houston. The terrain is flat. Today I met up with a friend and did a ride dedicated to hills and rollers also known by one and all as Cushatta Road out of Bellville. It has a total of 12 moderate to long rollers, some peole call them hills but to me they counted more as rollers than hills. It was satising to know that althiugh I have gotten a bit forgetful of the timing on the down shifting, I can still ride them without having to stand and was able to stay mostly in the big ring. Alwas nice to discover I still got legs. Not quite ready to tackle any Kentucky hills but I could probably work up to it.
gorgeous day and a good ride with a good friend. 45 miles in 3 hours including 25 hills or rollers and a bit of a headwind.
Best news of all is that my knees (arthritic, lacking cartilege and several ligaments) don't hurt!
