Is anyone watching the Vuelta a Espana this year?

I've been pretty uninterested in the pro races that were televised on NBCSN this year. With Horner doing so well in the Vuelta, I would actually like to watch it, but if it's being televised in the US it's on Universal, which I no longer get. Oh well. Good for Chris, he deserves a good result.

BTW in other Spanish cycling news, Euskaltel-Euskadi has just been saved by two-time F1 champion Fernando Alonso.

It has been a good race. Horner had a good ride this morning to take back the jersey.

I normally "watch" it via ticker. LiveUpdateGuy.com can get a little silly and off track but provides a good play-by-play when it gets going. The morning that Tony Martin's solo start to finish breakaway got nipped at the tape I was sitting in a meeting with the ticker running. Amazing race. Sometimes I think the delay of the ticker makes the race more interesting.

We also will stream Eurosport on a virtual machine as the internet feeds are advertising laden.

I "watched" a couple of my nephew's college baseball games on LiveStats last spring. They were playoff games and he's a freshman relief pitcher. It was a much more interesting way to follow a game than I had expected, and positively nerve-wracking when my nephew was pitching. (He saved one game but gave up the winning run in another.)

The thing about bike races and other sporting events on other continents is that I usually need to record them and watch them after the fact due to the time difference. As far as I know, you can't do that with live-streamed events on the internet.

Spanish tv has video of all stages at http://www.rtve.es/alacarta/videos/vuelta-ciclista-a-espana/. They usually have about two hours of coverage, including the podiums, posted daily after the stage is complete I believe. Horner has done an admirable job answering questions in his limited Spanish after his stage wins.

I have been watching, too. RTVE always offers its full broadcast online, within a few hours of the end of the stage. The Giro and the Vuelta can be a lot more fun to watch than the TdF (the Giro broadcast can always be found on RAI's web site)

I used the RTVE feed last night and watched it through my Apple TV. At least I can get about one word out of 50 with Spanish, as opposed to French or Italian!

I agree, I've enjoyed watching the Vuelta this year.

I am so happy for Chris Horner. Maybe we should all eat Snickers bars and Little Debbie brownies during rides.
