What is better than a new Brooks saddle? A gently used one. This saddle belongs to a friend, he bought it for his daughter and she doesn't like it. I can attest that it is really more brand new than used, has maybe 30 miles on it at the most.
The MSRP is $130 and he wants $60! Shipping will probably be 7 to 10 more dollars depending on location. As you know, the B17 S has a shorter nose than the B17 standard. This one is black. Works very well for smaller bike frames.
Let me know if you are interested and I will private message you his information.

Hmm...I am tempted. I hear all these rave reviews of Brooks saddles and have been thinking of trying one. Are they really as comfy as everybody says they are, once broken in? I just wonder if not having a cutout would be a problem.

For me, the cut out benefit depends on what style of riding position the saddle is used for. My Rivet Pearl is fantastic on my touring bike w/drop bars but when I tried it in a more upright position - moustache bars on a Surly LHT, the cut out was irritating.
A S style Brooks works very nice on smaller frame bikes. The B17 is not necessarily styled for sitting upright which (IMO) is why our friend is selling. He bought for his wife's bike and she sits very upright so I think it was to narrow for her.
For some reason I haven't found leather saddles to be hard to break in so am not a good judge of the break in factor.
