How many of you have heard of MIPS?

I learned of this technology in helmets from a Bicycling article a couple of months ago:

http://www.bicycling.com/senseless/

MIPS has a web site -- no many cycling helmets available yet: http://mipshelmet.com/home

To me, it sounds reasonable and worthwhile to have whatever marginal protection it might give, so I went with a Scott Lin when I decided to replace my old helmet. The Lin is an MTB helmet, though.. not exactly aero, but I value my noggin more than saving a couple of watts during a bike ride. Perhaps if more people are asking for it, more helmets will come to the market.

You did well to find one!

I went looking for mine as soon as I saw the article, and found a dealer that was able to place an order. According to the Scott rep, the helmet is sold out all over the country! I'm hoping that mine will arrive by mid-October.

I've dealt with a serious TBI with a close family member, and we see them in the equestrian world more often than anyone should be comfortable with. I cannot find an equestrian helmet with the technology yet, but I've started asking a lot of questions and hoping that the manufacturers will take notice.

Anything that reduces concussions is a good thing!

Do you like yours so far? I'm not-so-patiently waiting!!
