Hey Nor cal girls- Santa Rosa Bike race

Hey all you nor cal girls. I just made reservations to go up there for the race Monday. Plan on being in downtown Santa Rosa when they roll into town. Is anyone else going to be there? Maybe we can meet up.

My friend Dana is so funny, she sent me this email- I'm SO jealous!

"Actually, I'm pouring MG (murphy Goode, her employer) wine at the "mixer", they wanted me to pour at the
finish line in downtown too, I said no...but said yes to the "mixer" at the
Hyatt. They said that there will be some biking stars...to bad I don't know
who any of them are...I'm just hoping for some free stuff from the other
sponsor...hehehehe. Marc is going with me."

Anyway the mixer is from 4-6 pm monday at the Hyatt. Unfortunately I have to leave for the airport around 4:30, but it sure sounds fun!

I'll be race marshal #13, posted between 7th and 8th streets on Wilson Street near Railroad Square. Less than 1 mile from the final circuit. I'd love to meet anyone who makes their way up. If I'm not in my Amgen shirt, I'll be in my Hill Slug shirt.(I believe in truth in advertising):D

I'll try to come by Mikki. I just read in the PD that they are going to have a jumbo tron set up broadcasting the race live via helicopter cam. Sounds so tdf!! I'm STOKED!!!

Yep, my husband and I will be rolling into town with Veronica and Thom. My husbands on the SCBC board and informed me that he "kind-of volunteered" us to conduct a survey in the crowd while we're walking around, so you'll see us with little reporter notepads, at least until the riders get near us.

Oh btw- did you read the story about the pit bulls in Windsor in the PD yesterday? I was imagining myself running or riding by that guys house and having them come after me! :eek: And the owner claimed they were tame! HA!! Thats one thing I LOVE about where I live now. I was able to retire my can of pepper spray! :cool:

Yep, we're in the coalition. I thought I'd treat myself to just being an observer for this event, but as my husbands on the board that was not to be. It sounds like you still read the local papers website, so you proabably saw they have a bunch of articles on the race today, if not, here's the link:
