You may remember my post about selling my 29er that I bought off craigslist, and the search for a new 26er.
After several months of searching and test riding I found my new ride. I originally wanted a 26er because the 29er I had felt heavy and cumbersome and a tad too big. It was a 19" frame. I did test a lot of 26ers and found a few that were contenders but, then I stopped in the Trek store by my house and tried the 2013 Trek Cali S. It is a 29er WSD bike and I fell in love:p It felt perfect and it was on sale too (Trek's Summer sale) so, I got 200$ off the list price:D
I now realize the 19" was way to big and the Cali is a 17". I think I am between sizes and can ride both but definitely like it on the smaller size. It has the G2 fork and I do not have issues with toe overlap at all.
DH and I took a camping/biking weekend (last weekend) after I picked her up Thursday night. Well, It poured Sat. night so she got a bath. I locked her up to the RV outside. We hit the trails on Sat. morning and I love the Cali. It feels great to have a bike that fits and is fun to ride.
I picked up a Osprey hydration pack (in blue) at REI with my rewards points and a pair of baby blue bontrager gloves to match the bike :) Now, I just need to get some baggy shorts and some Five Ten shoes. I just ordered some Tioga Spider platforms. I do not like to be clipped in on the mountain bike.
Here she is....I love that she has a clean look to her...no massive --out there-- logos all over the place.
