Have any of you ladies used the Superfeet insoles (yellow cycling ones) in a pair of Specialized Pro Road shoes? A friend of mine recommended the Superfeet insoles for my road shoes. She said they helped her eliminate the hot spots on her feet. I have the Speciliazed BF (blue) insoles currently and I am still having some problems with hot spots on the ball of my foot. Do the "ramped" yellow Superfeet insoles work in the road bike shoes?

Opinions are definately welcome. I will be doing longer rides (68 this year and hopefully 100s next year) so I am looking for a good supportive insole without having to purchase custom ones.

Thanks.

That's the insert I got, but my shoes are the Specialized women's ember.

I went with the yellow because A) they were recommended by another cyclist who works in a shoe shop and B) they specifically state they are for cycling shoes, but ymmv. I have high arches so the green might have worked better?

Maybe you could see and feel them both to get an idea which would work better for you.

The yellow ones were recommended to me by a lady that rides all the time. However my problem is that there is not a local dealer so I would have to order them on-line and would not get a chance to compare the two side by side. So my LBS recommeded sometime back the Blue (medium I think) Specialized BG insert, but I am having trouble on long rides with those keeping the hot spots at bay. Shorter rides are ok up to about 20-30 miles or so, but longer rides they just don't last. That is what we were discussing when she said she used to have that problem until she got the yellow superfeets.

Do you have any problems with size being not true to fit? Where did you find the green ones?

You have to cut them down to fit the shoe. I just took the inserts that were in the shoe and put it on top of the superfeet and traced around it and cut it to fit.

I got mine at a local running shop.

Some medical supply shops carry the Superfeet too. They did not work to relieve by hot foot so I got the green BG footbeds and all is well.

BG's, do you mean Specialized? Haven't seen or tried those.

Yes, they are the Specialized and are the ones for high arch support.

I have the Specialized BG Blue insoles, but I get a bad hot spot on my right foot and they don't help very much. I talked to another lady last night and she said she had the Superfeet Yellow and liked them because the had more padding under the ball of the foot than her BG's. I tried an experiment last night. I have some New Balance inserts recommended by my orthopedic before I got the custom inserts. I had an older pair and cut them to fit my bike shoes. They were too think to use them all the time but the hot spot was better with more padding. The guys at the LBS I use suggested I might try a little thicker sock and also change to the Look Keo RED cleats with more float since it may be I am trying to twist past the 4.5 degrees of float in the grey cleats. My right ankle and foot I have to turn toe out so they suggested I might try the red cleats plus the yellow inserts.

I ordered the yellow Superfeet and should get them on Tuesday. I will let you guys know how it feels.
