I was at an info. table today promoting the Grand Fondo Rockies bike ride this summer. After chatting for 5 min., etc. and somehow I revealed I had 4 bikes (we were all at an annual Bike Swap), I was given a free Grand Fondo Rockies jersey my size.

Needless to say I was flabbergasted, but they simply want it worn to promote the ride.

Ok, am I going on the ride? I wasn't planning....to me for 1 day ride, a $100.00 registration fee is expensive. (but includes jersey, food stops, post ride dinner.) It's not for charity, Grand Fondo rides are run by a private company.

I think we would have to rent a car to get our bikes out or ride at least 80 km. to get to start point... Dearie is planning to ride solo around the time of ride, from Vancouver over the Cascades, Monashee and Rockies mountain ranges (there are 3 mountain ranges to cross over) into Alberta to meet me.

Anyway, it's a lovely jersey ..even if the sleeve cuffs are snug. And I'm slim in the arms! I'll wear it. :)

**Over 4,000 people show up at this annual Bike swap of used bikes that one can buy. Over 2,000 used bikes are sold. I've never seen anything quite like it on this scale. I'm not aware of Vancouver having this sort of thing on a massive scale. One woman I knew wanted to get a bike for her young teenage son who got his bike stolen (from his school).

Lovely jersey! And yes, those arms DO look snug...

A full length zipper on a jersey for me --first time ever.

Have to say it causes a bubble of fabric around my stomach. Methinks if I was broader chested and fuller breasted (and skinny arms???) it wouldn't be this problem.... Oh well.

It is beautiful! Maybe the ride would be worth the splurge.... sounds like fun.

I often find that I have to remove some of the elastic in the bottom of a jersey as well as in both arms, especially if it is a mans size that they have "adapted" or decided to label as a womans. It isn't hard if you have basic sewing skill, just a bit fiddly. If the sleeves are set in perhaps you could simply remove the sleeves altogether and have a sleeveless jersey. I have done this with several as well.

As for feeling obligated to ride since they have given you the jersey. I would not worry about it but just wear it around riding and if anyone asks you where you got it, talk about the ride and the sale and where you got it. Wordof mouth advertising, don't you know.

I think so too. I'm going to visit people in Ontario so that's a place to talk it up by wearing jersey.

I love the colors in that jersey! Great looking and you're a lucky gal to have it.
