It was a VERY short ride, and considering that I've had three very intense workouts for the last three mornings in a row (including this morning), I shouldn't have done it. However it was an AWESOME 30 minute ride! 80 degrees, sleeveless jersey, wind and sun on my skin...after a few miles my neck started complaining so I listened and went home. I was expecting that to happen so it wasn't a surprise - I really can't mix gym and ride on the same day. AWESOME ride though :)

They say the temps are dropping again starting tomorrow, and I've a 5 day conference starting Sunday afternoon...so I wasn't about to pass it up. It was an enjoyable ride, and I didn't bother with my HRM, I KNEW it would be shorter than desired, but it was a RIDE :)

Sometimes the shortest ride is the best. That's why I go, even if I only have 30 minutes.
Those little rides add up.
I went out with arm warmers and knee warmers and a sleeveless base layer under a ss jersey at around 11:30. Big mistake. At 6 miles I shed both sets of warmers and was glad I had put sun block on my arms. Even though I felt sluggish, I ended up with a respectable average for me, at 15.5 miles.

There is nothing wrong with a short ride. :) All rides are great. I got in an hour today. :)

Woot!

I rode too on Monday. First time since I don't know when. Turned the speedometer off and went for 23 miles by myself and it felt GREAT. :D

How wonderful! Absence makes the heart grow fonder? You bet, a ride is a ride and when we've been sidelined that first ride back is exquisite.

Congratulations.

Awesome! Take every moment you can get Catrin in the wonky Indiana weather. Who cares if it was a short ride? You got on two wheels in some warm air!

The best part was being in shorts and no sleeves - getting to feel the air and sun on my skin :) I've a LONG ways to go if I am going to ride 100 miles at the Booty Ride at the end of June though...assuming I can meet my fundraising goals.

I've had 2 rides in short sleeves and shorts. It feels so liberating compared to the amount of gear one needs to put on for a ride at the beginning of March.
I rode to the gym at 4:45 AM today. It is so peaceful. There was a very bright half moon, the sun was coming up and I saw the first hint of dawn as I rode over the Concord River.
Unfortunately, the evil instructor was subbing today and the class involved lots of running outside and sprinting. I left the class at 6:20, as I need to do this so I don't get caught up in the traffic back up from the 6:45 commuter train, and I needed to change back into my cycling bottoms and shoes. The ride home was quite painful after the class and my quads were screaming. Plus, the sun is right in my eyes for the beginning of the ride. But, I timed it right as far as getting across the major intersections in rush hour traffic. A guy passed me when I was closer to home and said good morning... I was actually moaning and groaning to myself. I hope he didn't hear me!
Time to stretch some more.
