Does anybody have suggestions for a place for a pre-Cinderella dinner? Or is there any interest in a post-Cinderella get-together? We’re open to suggestions for what kind of food. Traditionally isn’t it usually pasta? Does anybody have strong feelings (positive or negative) about Fuzio’s (the place we went last year)?

I thought Fuzios was fine, and just speaking for myself Bikeless, Spazzdog and I would show up anywhere the gals wanna go.

I've read that it's been proven that carb-loading for women is not so much the pre-ride pasta feast, but hydrate and eat balanced meals due to our superior ability to use carbs and fat for fuel. So anywhere that we can get the 4 food groups is fine: I think that's chocolate, beer, cheese, coffee? :) :p

I'd like Italian over Mexican for pre ride, I guess - I'm in for what ever place you guys like.

I personally thought Fuzios was fine.

I thought the location was good. Considering the fact that we live in different parts of the bay area & beyond, IMO it makes sense to have the dinner somewhat near the start of the ride.

I thought the food was good and I thought there was a good selection, and the prices were reasonable (the drinks were pricey, probably just as well ;) but not out of line).

Fuzios was kind of noisy, but what reasonably-priced restaurant that can seat 12 on a Friday night won't be? Plus, if I recall correctly, we were the ones making the bulk of the noise at our end of the room :D

An idea regarding Fuzio's... I know someone was saying it was hard to talk to everyone at a long table like last year. Perhaps we could ask for 4 - 6 tops enough to accomodate us all and then switch tables every so often. Might be kind of cumbersome to move your dinner and drink, but it might be worth it to really get to talk to everyone!

Parking for Fuzio's was a pain, and it really was too loud to have any kind of conversation with the group.

I vote for Livermore. I plan to go there. So maybe we have 2 places.

Okay, why doesn't everyone come to my house and we'll have a pot luck?? :)

I'm just kidding! I live heck and away from most of you.

I've thought about it, and I'm going to skip the pre-ride dinner this year. I was pretty miserable last year, after staying out late (10:00 or so, wasn't it....dang I'm getting old.. .) So I'm going to make an early night of it pre-ride.
I'll be happy to go out eating and drinking post-ride.

Yeah, Snap- If we all skipped pre ride, went to bed early, started Cindy EARLY (like get there at 6:30) then we could really enjoy our comradie in the afternoon! You might be getting older, BUT that might mean WISER as well!:p :p :p

BikeMomma chiming in here....I'm up for Fuzio's...mmmm...pasta! Close to the hotel, close to the ride venue, close to Starbucks, parking I can deal with....

Come on, BG! We'd love to be graced by your Goddess-like presence once again! :D :D :D Maybe we could ask for two or three smaller tables close together instead of one long one?? That way, maybe we can hear better. Hmmm...not sure if that will work, but there's gotta be a remedy....

I'd love to see you all, but the Livermore option sounds pretty fine to me! Since we still have some time to decide, I'll keep quiet.

STARBUCKS- DID I HEAR SOMEONE SAY STARBUCKS??????????????:p :p :p :p :p :p :p

I'm up for wherever and will try to show up wherever everyone else is. :) However, I'd prefer pasta over mexican. Sometimes mexican can upset my digestion and I have to be pretty careful of what I eat.

BikeMomma- I too drink that stuff. (nursing a Misto as we speak-from a San Francisco store)

We ride to Starbuck's as a club twice a week - its a destination spot. The guys in Martinez where we go are all excited about AMGEN as they are right in the middle of the start area!:p :p :p :p :p

And, Starbuck's may be coming to downtown Benicia. Not sure that is a good thing as we have several small coffeeshops now and I would hate to see their business fold because a big chain came in.
