Cycling trip in Venice

I'm taking a cycling trip, this summer. Prior to cycling, I'm spending 4 days in Venice. Can you recommend a place to stay? What do I need to put on my "must see/do" list?

I would spend a day on Torcello.

I think I stayed at the Best Western Hotel Ala. It's centrally located, easy to get to by vaporretti, and had some nicely preserved details.

If you like glass, spend a day on Murano. I got all my Christmas shopping done when I was there!
