Are there other forums like this for women who bike? I love this but you are limited to what you can say about stuff.

Limited how?

I'm confused. Isn't this the same question you asked yesterday?

Yesterday's question along with some answers: http://forums.teamestrogen.com/showthread.php?t=5131

And I'm with V too - limiting how?

When you read the rules you can't advertise or anything. Not that I want to. But lets say you know of an event that is happening, can you post it? Or another site that might have other bike stuff for sale, can you post about that?

I'm a little unclear on that, too. Are we allowed to post if we see a really good bargain at a competitor?

I don't see why we can't post events. That would probably go under the regional section.

Let's see - as far as posting events, people often put info about events under the geographic area where the event is to be held. Sometimes there are separate posts for each event, and sometimes they are grouped in one thread like we did for centuries in the Northeast last year. Here's that thread: http://forums.teamestrogen.com/showthread.php?t=2565.

The "places to ride" entries are toward the bottom of the top level forums screen.

If you have something to sell or are looking to buy something, there is a For Sale / Wanted category.

If you can't remember where you posted something, you can always click on your user name. You'll see an entry to find all of your posts, or to find all threads started by you.

Oh, and it sounds like your hut to hut tour in the Rockies is going to be awesome. I hope that you'll consider posting a ride report after you get home. If you're interested in ride reports that others have posted, look in the Adventure Stories topic.

And welcome to the forum. I hope that some of these answers will help you to get more comfortable with the forum. I find it an awesome place to exchange information and share riding tales.

Brandi,

There is an area on this site where you can list things for sale, scroll down a bit and you'll see it there. Also, I've seen several posts about upcoming events, although usually its more about someone being excited to see something new and fun to do - not about actually being a promoter of an event.

I'm pretty new here but I love this board and have found that I can ask about pretty much anything and get great and extremely helpful responses. In fact, these women are so wonderful that I am trapsing up to a ride in Utah... more because I want to meet them than because I couldn't find a ride locally! Now if I can just get into good enough shape to keep up with any of them! ;)

Yes and yes!

I haven't read the rules in a while, but we talk about most everything here. There is a section of the forum for selling stuff.

Folks are always raving about some product that TE may or may not sell.

There are lots of threads about events all the around the world.

heck... i've posted about stuff i've bought at other onlines places (as have others)... with links even!

i've not tried to sell anything yet.. but the reminder of the for sale section may be a better place to start than ebay! woo hoo!

and i always post links to the pages about my upcoming rides (events)!

not a problem - always feel free to ask, someone here will always have an answer. If in doubt, you can always contact the admins directly and clear it with them first but like everyone said: I've seen all manner of things posted here including new non-TE "purchases" with links. Heck - we sometimes even give TE a plug! ;)
The thing I love best about this board: it's all women. For someone who lives alone, has 1 female riding friend and works with 9 guys, I have somewhere I can go and talk to like-minded people who may have had the same problems, experiences, or whatever I have. If you can't ask it here - where Can you ask it? Sometimes, it's just a great place to come and catch a smile. And of course if you live in a colder climate, it's a Great place to come and hear about those of us that live in warmer climates and don't mind bragging about it! (not that that would be ME of course).

So welcome and hep yourself! :D

Oh, but you can't talk about double-dipped chocolate donuts or chocolate lava cake or fresh brownies from the oven or Triple Grande Cinnamom Dolce Lattes with extra whipped cream.

Oops! :D

Oh No, not CorsairMac who's probably eating cake, sipping mocha lattes and watching the weather channel for New England and quietly plotting her next warm weather update post to arrive at the height of our blizzard over the weekend.
:D All in good sport love.

Can't have any??......who made THOSE rules up?? You made the brownies - you eat them........how else will you know if they're any good to share with anyone else. And of Course, if they aren't quite up to snuff: you need to eat them all so no one else has to suffer from a less than perfect batch! (and trust me, my cooking is Never perfect!) :p

and Surly - I got ya covered hun.......I found your thread and duly updated it! Enjoy the - um - weather! ;)
